ABOUT THE FOUNDERS

Mike Kind

Mike Kind, author of Re-energize Your Printing Business, is an industry strategist well-versed in detecting trends and direction, reacting to market dynamics, making necessary changes, and navigating pitfalls while keeping an organization on course.
Mike is the founder of the JKG Group, a marketing and corporate communications company in Boca Raton, Florida. He started the company as a printer with one employee at the age of twenty-three in 1984 and sold a controlling interest ten years later. He remained as President and Chief Operating Officer, and in 2004—despite an industry-wide recession—he and his team reengineered the company into a marketing and corporate communications solutions provider, creating one of the largest organizations of its kind in the country.
He was a pioneer in online ordering applications for both print and fulfillment of marketing and corporate communications collateral, achieving industry-wide acceptance from major corporations seeking to reduce costs. This led to significant corporate growth, with revenues increasing by over 300% over a four-year period, even amid the 9/11 attacks and the dot-com bust—one of the worst economic downturns in U.S. history.

Mitch Evans

Mitch Evans began his career after graduate school with Andersen Consulting (now Accenture) in New York City. Mitch had a strong entrepreneurial drive and, from 1978 to 2001, was the owner of a printing company located in metropolitan New Jersey.
He grew Print Tech from a single-location operation into a multi-million-dollar business with six locations. This significant accomplishment earned him prestigious honors, including being selected by NAQP as one of only four “models of excellence” in the industry. With this designation, Mitch’s company was recognized as a benchmark for all NAQP members to emulate.
Print Tech was noted as one of the first shops in the country to install direct-to-plate technology and was consistently regarded as a leader in innovation. Mitch was also an early pioneer in the instant sign business, launching Sign Tech in 1988.
He successfully negotiated an exit strategy in 2001 and relocated to Palm Beach, Florida. Mitch currently spends the majority of his time on Daufuskie Island, near Hilton Head, South Carolina. In 2007, he acquired a sign company, Sign D' Sign, in Bluffton.
